In Sin City, there are an endless number of ways to celebrate our country’s independence in a way will make everyone on Instagram jealous. During the summer, Las Vegas will find just about any excuse to throw a good party, and Independence Day is the best reason of all to don your American flag bikini and brace yourself for a five-day bender, with the festivities starting on Friday night—June 30th—and stretching until Tuesday, the 4th of July, itself.
While everyone else is watching a parade or going to the block party, you can be living the good life in a poolside cabana, listening to Steve Aoki spin at Wet Republic or Marshmello at Encore Beach Club. Remember: in July, the weather in Las Vegas runs well over 100 degrees every day. If you’re hitting the pool parties, staying hydrated is key.
By night, instead of partying on someone’s lawn with a pack of beer you brought yourself, you can dance the night away at Drai’s at the Cromwell, where Wiz Khalifa will be performing, or Jewel Nightclub at Aria, where Lil’ Jon will be performing. Bottle service beats Bring-Your-Own-Bottle any day. Leave your cooler at home for these parties, because security will force you to part with your beer if you want to party with your bros.
Of course, no Instagram Independence Day travelogue would be complete without a collage of fireworks showcasing every artsy filter you know how to use.
Caesar’s Palace It is rumored that the best view of the fireworks in the city will be from the top of the High Roller, the giant Ferris wheel that serves as Las Vegas’s answer to the London Eye. Sunday, July 3, 2017 at 9 p.m.

While you may be having more fun in Vegas than your friends who couldn’t come, a taste of home, like a hot dog, hamburger, or brat will top off the experience. While you may be hard-pressed to find anyone boiling their brats in beer on the Strip, there are countless options for a good burger—ranging from Gordon Ramsay’s BurGR at Planet Hollywood to Bobby Flay’s Bobby’s Burger Palace at Mandarin Oriental. Or pick up a Nathan’s famous hot dog at one of its multiple Strip locations as a nod to the legendary Coney Island food competition, Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.
