Las Vegas has garnered itself a reputation for being Sin City for reason: gambling, drinking, partying, all-night clubbing, generally dissolute behavior, and of course, a casual approach to nudity. For the boys, there are the compulsory visits to Spearmint Rhino, Sapphire, Treasures, and Hustler, but where do the girls go to sin in Sin City?
Topless pools or “euro style sunbathing” as it is called in press releases and other politically correct references, has been a growing trend in Vegas for the last few years. The topless pools offer something different than the legendary parties at Encore Beach Club, and Marquee Dayclub. It has become popular for the simple reason that it allows women to let loose and participate in the revelry of Sin City, having fun in the sun while feeling a little bit naughty.
Moorea Beach’s tagline “top-tional” has been seen all over billboards and advertisements around town, announcing their return to the topless optional experience that they offer, after a brief hiatus from European style sunbathing in 2010. “Top-tional” is back and better than ever with a “private, adult, upscale and sophisticated day-club experience.”
Venus Pool is brought to the Vegas Pool scene by Pure Management Group, the creators of Pure Nightclub at Caesar’s Palace and LAX Nightclub at The Luxor. It is known as a luxurious spot for enjoy a mojito and the freedom from bikini tops, featuring eleven cabanas, four couches, and fourteen daybeds and chaise lounge chairs.
Topless pools may come and go, but Bare has stayed at the top of its game. Bare at The Mirage encourages showing off and facilitates viewing others with its comparatively open plan. Despite the lack of discretion and modesty afforded here, Fergie, Britney Spears, Gretchen Rossi, and Courtney Love have all been seen here.
The aptly-named Naked Pool at Artisan Lounge is the newest offering in Euro-style sunbathing, carving out a unique niche for itself among the other topless pools in town; Michael Crandall, director of business affairs for the Siegel Group, the holding company for Artisan, explicates the vision for Naked Pool in an interview with USA Today; “”While at the mega-resorts you are stuffed into the pool crammed with bodies, our pool parties will offer a completely different feel and vibe… It’s about having a great place to chill for the day, have some drinks, enjoy great music, and escape from reality. No long lines and thousands of people.”
Tao Beach and other pools around town have gone through “experimental” phases, trying the top-tional style and then eventually favoring tradition; however, the pools that remain are keeping the Mediterranean spirit alive. All of the European style pools offer the opportunity to have some adult- style fun, as well as world-class service, superior drinks, and the ultimate in VIP treatment. Whether you’re looking for a fun new Sin City experience as a couple or you just want to feel like Brigitte Bardot for the day, the topless pools of Las Vegas are an unforgettable experience.
