Metallica Announces “Life Burns Faster” Sphere Residency in Las Vegas for 2026

Metallica Sphere Las Vegas 2026 - Hero

After months of speculation, it’s official. Metallica will headline a 2026 residency at Sphere, bringing its “Life Burns Faster” production to the most technologically advanced venue in live entertainment.

The eight-show run begins October 1 and 3, followed by performances on October 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31, 2026. As with the band’s M72 World Tour, each pairing will follow the No Repeat Weekend format. Fans attending both the Thursday and Saturday shows will experience completely different set lists, with no songs repeated between the two nights.

The residency will span Metallica’s full catalog, blending live staples with deeper cuts, all enhanced by Sphere’s immersive technology. The venue’s wraparound LED display, spatial audio system and multi-sensory production capabilities are expected to transform the band’s signature sound into a fully dimensional experience. Drummer Lars Ulrich has said the concept took hold during the opening of U2’s Sphere run in 2023, calling the opportunity “uncharted territory” for how the band connects with fans in a live setting.

Tickets for two-night No Repeat Weekend packages and single-night shows go on sale March 6 at 10 a.m. PT, following a series of presales beginning March 2. In addition to standard tickets, the band is offering enhanced experiences and travel packages, along with the return of its all-access pass now rebranded as the “Full House” Ticket. The premium option allows fans to attend every Metallica show at Sphere in 2026.

Sphere continues to redefine the Las Vegas residency model, drawing global artists who want to push production beyond traditional arena formats. Metallica’s arrival signals another major chapter in the venue’s evolution and further cements Las Vegas as the epicenter for next-generation concert residencies.

For traveling fans, the residency also positions October 2026 as a key weekend destination for rock audiences worldwide. With No Repeat Weekends encouraging multi-night attendance, demand is expected to drive extended stays, premium seating interest and elevated hospitality bookings across the Strip.

Sin City VIP will offer custom concert weekend packages for groups attending the residency, including luxury suites, VIP nightlife access and curated Las Vegas itineraries built around show dates.
