Boots on the Strip

Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que at Treasure Island is built for a proper country night out. There is a wooden dance floor, a mechanical bull, live music and barbecue, all within a Strip resort. Come for dinner, learn a few steps or settle in for the band. It is an easy answer when the group wants country music with something more to do than stand around a bar.

The venue works particularly well for visitors who want the honky tonk atmosphere without turning the evening into a complicated itinerary. Dinner and dancing can happen in one place, and the surrounding resort gives everyone a clear meeting point.

Live music and line dancing

Live entertainment is central to the experience. Gilley’s publishes its band calendar online, while Treasure Island lists line dancing lessons Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. Check the date you plan to visit, especially during major event weeks when the usual schedule can change.

You do not need to arrive as an expert dancer. A lesson gives first timers a way onto the floor, while regular dancers can make an evening of the music. If seeing a specific band matters to you, build the visit around the performance rather than assuming the same lineup every night.

The bull and the barbecue

The mechanical bull is part challenge, part spectator sport. Some people want their eight seconds; others are happier cheering from the sidelines. Follow the operator’s participation rules and ask about the current riding charge when you arrive.

The restaurant side brings barbecue and hearty country favorites into the plan. Reserve a meal when you want a guaranteed dining stop, and leave some flexibility for the saloon afterward. Restaurant seating and dance floor access are different parts of the evening, so ask what your reservation includes.

Gilley’s during NFR

Treasure Island has announced official NFR viewing parties at Gilley’s beginning at 5 p.m. during the December 3 through 12, 2026 rodeo. Live country music follows, with a cover charge applying after the viewing parties. That makes Gilley’s a useful option for fans enjoying NFR in Las Vegas beyond the arena.

A viewing party is also a different plan from attending the rodeo at Thomas & Mack. Choose the experience you actually want, then arrange dinner and transportation around it. For daytime shopping, see Cowboy Christmas.

Plan your visit

Find Gilley’s inside Treasure Island at 3300 South Las Vegas Boulevard. Western wear fits the room, and the published dress code is casual. Cover charges vary by night and special event. Check the current calendar and restaurant hours before making a late dinner plan.

For another country influenced stop, explore DawgHouse Saloon at Resorts World. For a seated adult show, X Country at Harrah’s gives the evening a different pace. Keep the hotel locations in mind rather than treating every Strip address as a short walk.
